Escola Ave Maria Recognised in the SeguraNet Challenges 2023/2024

Escola Ave Maria was awarded in the 2023/2024 edition of the SeguraNet Challenges, in the 2nd cycle category, with a score of 8,930 points, placing it among the 144 schools that exceeded the 2,000-point threshold required to be recognised as SeguraNet winning schools.

This distinction reflects our ongoing commitment to promoting critical, responsible, and safe digital citizenship, by actively engaging students and teachers in awareness-raising activities about the responsible use of technology.

The initiative is run by the Directorate-General for Education, through the SeguraNet Awareness Centre, in collaboration with the ICT Competence Centre of the School of Education of Santarém.

In the 2023/24 edition, 246 schools took part, involving 55,580 students, 801 teachers, and 252 parents and guardians.

Escola Ave Maria continues its participation in 2024/2025 with the 4th Year and 2nd cycle, reinforcing its dedication to digital education.

 

About the SeguraNet Challenges

These challenges aim to:

  • Raise awareness among children, educators and teachers about the importance of a well-informed, critical, and safe use of digital technologies, particularly the Internet;
  • Encourage discussion on topics related to Digital Citizenship;
  • Stimulate children’s critical thinking as users of digital platforms and environments.
