Christmas Concert “The Silence That Became Light”

News and activities

On 15 December at 4:30pm, the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, in Avenidas Novas, welcomed the Ave Maria School community for its annual Christmas concert.
Entitled “The Silence That Became Light”, the concert offered a rich musical and dramatic narrative of the Advent and Christmas seasons—from the angel Gabriel’s announcement to Mary, to the arrival of the Magi at the nativity, culminating in a grand finale with the participation of all students.

The performance brought together pupils from Preschool through to the end of Lower Secondary. The children’s voices—shining in group and solo moments—were prepared by Music teachers Laura Ferreira and Andreia Pires.
A live orchestra of professional musicians, directed by maestro Lucas Thaumaturgo, elevated the celebration with a remarkable musical backdrop.

The modern and varied repertoire included songs by Pentatonix and One Voice Children’s Choir, along with hymns from World Youth Day Lisbon. One of the most emotional moments was the performance of Wonderful Children, a piece specially composed for Ave Maria School by José Miranda.

This concert not only celebrated Christian tradition but also strengthened school community bonds through an artistic production of the highest quality.
