Languages Days / Dias das Línguas were celebrated in our school from the 22nd to the 24th of April, involving all students from nursery to 6th graders.
Every class experienced different activities, such as scones baking, storytelling and the famous Spelling Bee competition. There was also a poems exhibition in Portuguese: “Estendal da Poesia” and students elected the top 3 books. On Wednesday students also had the opportunity to meet the Portuguese author José Carlos Completo, who presented some books of his collection.
On these days, lunchtime was special as well, as students tried typical British and Portuguese dishes, such as fish and chips, “bitoque”, apple crumble among other treats.
Pre-school and 2nd cycle students shared some moments together with stories and songs. It was a great sharing experience!
Some days earlier, on the 12th of April, year 5 students went to the theatre to see the play “O Príncipe Nabo”.
Last but not least, on the 7th of May, 2nd cycle students will see the play “Sherlock Holmes” and later, on the 19th of June, the 1st cycle will see “Cinderella”, both performed by “The Calliope Theatre Company”. Students are looking forward to going on stage!
We all had a great time learning and having fun together!
